This is one of the most soul food recipe of my blog! I present to you the Brownie with Hazelnuts and Salted Butter Caramel or the perfect fusion between French and American cuisine. Sounds delicious, right?

How do you get a real fudgy brownie?
The art of brownies is to get them so soft that they just melt in the mouth. For this, it is important not to overcook the brownie. When you take the brownie out of the oven, it often looks too undercooked, and there, the mistake we all make is to think: you have to put it back to bake for a few more minutes. No, the best thing to do at this point is to let it cool in the open air and then put it in the refrigerator if you like to eat it cold. It will harden and have the perfect texture. Be careful, however, to respect a minimum cooking time (about 25 minutes, max 30 minutes depending on your oven).
The other piece of advice I gave you is not to use baking powder. Indeed, the purpose of the brownie is not to be a fluffy cake and therefore it is not necessary to add baking powder as some recipes suggest.

Preparation
Step 1: The salted butter caramel
Pour the sugar into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. The sugar should melt and take on a golden color.
Pour the liquid cream into another saucepan and heat over low heat without boiling it.
Then add the cream to the caramel sugar little by little. Mix well. Once the cream is well incorporated, add the salted butter.
Salted caramel always thickens as it cools, if your caramel is too liqdui, you can put it back on the heat and cooki it longer until it thickens.
Step 2: Hazelnut Brownie
Preheat the oven to 175 ° C (traditional heat). In a salad bowl, pour the flour, cocoa powder and sugar. Add the eggs and stir everything.
In another bowl, mix the butter and chocolate. Melt everything in the microwave or in a double boiler.
Then, mix the butter and melted chocolate with the flour. Add the hazelnuts. Mix everything.
Pour into a rectangular mold (about 20 x 15 cm) and add a few more hazelnuts for decoration. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Then let the brownie cool. Then add the salted butter on top.
