Here’s a great gift idea for your Christmas guests: those delicious Christmas Tree Pops! Not only are they easy to do, but they are also very fun to make. This is a great idea for an activity to do with your kids.

Perhaps you already know the concept of “cake pops”? These are little cake-based lollipops, covered with chocolate or sugar icing.

For this Christmas Trees Pops recipe, I was inspired by cake pops. I made a pound cake that I lightened a bit, however. The cake is placed on an ice cream stick and then covered with chocolate. This recipe is much easier than it looks!

Recipe for Christmas Tree Pops

For 6 Christmas trees you need the following ingredients:

Ingredients

For the cake

  • 120 g flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 70 g sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of melted butter

For decoration

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g of milk chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 50 g white chocolate
  • Sugar pearls

Equipment

  • Glass mold, 25 x 21 cm
  • Ice cream or lollipop sticks

Preparation

Step 1: The cake

Preheat your oven to 160 ° C (conventional heat).

In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar. Add vanilla extract. Add the eggs and the melted butter.

Mix everything until you get a smooth paste.

Step 2: Baking

Pour the dough into a flat mold (about 25 cm by 21 cm) covered with baking paper. Adapt your mold size according to the amount of dough. Your dough should not be higher than 2-3 cm.

Cut out your parchment paper so that it is the same size as your dish. Cut the corners of the parchment paper 5 cm on the diagonal. Your parchment paper will not crease when you put it in the pan.

Bake for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Cut the cake

Once the cake is cooked, let it cool for a few minutes or even 1 hour before cutting it.

Cut the cake in half lengthwise. Then cut small triangles to form your trees. Insert an ice cream stick into each tree.

Step 4: Decoration

Melt the dark chocolate, milk chocolate and coconut oil together. You can melt it in a water bath or in the microwave over very low heat. Stir well so that the two chocolates mix well.

Melt the white chocolate separately.

Then dip your Christmas trees in dark chocolate, covering well all over. Pour a drop of chocolate and level with the ice cream stick, this will act as a glue once the chocolate has cooled.

Then decorate with white chocolate to form a garland. Place sugar balls to imitate your Christmas balls. Above all, decorate your trees right away before the chocolate hardens!

Once decorated, place your Christmas trees in the fridge for an hour. You can then place your trees in a small bag and place them next to your guests’ plates!
