If, like me, you like a savoury breakfast, this healthy salmon tartine is the perfect way to start the day off on the right foot! Not a fan of savoury in the morning? This tartine is also perfect for a quick lunch on the go!

Healthy tartines are hype!

There is no food blog without its healthy tartine or toast page! Indeed, toast or tartines, which is basically the French word for toasts, have become more and more popular. And this, for the simple reason that they are easy to prepare and you can add (almost) anything you want. Not to mention that they allow you to play with everyone’s creativity for the pleasure of your eyes and palate.

In this recipe, I used a wholemeal bread roll or “Mehrkornbrötchen” in German. I discovered the Bulle bakery based in Düsseldorf, Germany, which offers all kinds of 100% home-made breads. If you have the opportunity to try it, I highly recommend this bakery. Link to the Bulle bakery.

A perfect snack at any time of the day!

The great thing about this healthy salmon tartine is that it can be used as a scnack at any time of the day. As I often eat savoury in the morning, I usually make this tartine for breakfast. Sometimes I prepare it in the morning and take it with me for lunch.

I love the combination of smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese. It’s a classic, but it always works! I also often add baby sprouts because they give it a slightly peppery taste. Plus, they are 100% healthy!

Healthy Salmon Toast

  • 2 slices of bread or a bun
  • 1 slice of smoked salmon
  • 6 cucumber slices finely cut
  • 1 tsp. cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp. baby sprouts
  • Pepper
  • Fleur de sel


  • Spread some cream cheese on the bread.
  • Place a slice of smoked salmon on top.
  • Add a few slices of cucumber.
  • Add a few baby sprouts.
  • Season with a little fleur de sel and pepper.
