A tomato salad is very simple to make so it is all the more important to choose the right ingredients, especially the tomatoes. Here I have chosen San Marzano tomatoes. They are firm, fruity and low in acidity. Ideal for a salad.
The choice of olive oil is also very important. Choose an extra virgin olive oil, it will perfectly enhance the taste of the tomatoes.
Preparation of the Salad with San Marzano tomatoes
Cut the tomatoes into slices, then arrange them in circles on a plate.
Add olive oil, spreading it evenly over all the tomatoes. Then add balsamic vinegar.
Season with a pinch of fleur de sel and pepper and decorate with a few fresh basil leaves.
