How to delight young and old? With French fries ! For a very long time, I thought oven baked French fries weren’t worth it because they would never taste as good as deep fried fries. I was very wrong! After testing several recipes, I found the perfect French Fries recipe that is healthy and crispy at the same time.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 80 ml olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Provence herbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200 ° C (fan oven).
  • Depending on the type of potato, you can choose to keep the skin on or not. Personally, I like to leave it because on the one hand there are plenty of nutrients in the skin and on the other hand, it saves me time!
  • Fill a large pot with water and bring the water to a boil. Meanwhile wash the potatoes and cut them into the shape of fries.
  • Remove the water from the heat, then pour the potatoes into the hot water. Leave to soak for 10 minutes.
  • Then, drain the potatoes and dry them in a clean cloth. In a salad bowl, add the potatoes, salt, pepper, Provence herbs and olive oil. Mix well.
  • Oil your baking tray and place the potatoes on it. Spread them well. Then, bake for 40 minutes, turning them if necessary after 20 minutes baking.

Notes

If you want to prepare these fries ahead of time, bake them for 30 minutes only. Then place them in the oven for 10 minutes before serving and they will be even crispier!
