The last few days have been so hot that I was craving ice cream! However, I didn’t have much at home: other than applesauce and a few strawberries. So, I decided to try this super easy Applesauce Popsicles with Strawberries recipe. The result? Excellent and very refreshing!

A healthy and easy recipe

The advantage of this recipe is that it allows to eat ice without complex because these popsicles are only made of fruits, if you want a drop of agave syrup and nothing more!

The best is to use applesauce with no added sugar or even better homemade applesauce. Note, however, that when you eat frozen food our taste buds perceive tastes and in particular sugar with a lot lower intensity.

These popsicles made from applesauce can therefore seem a little flat. Therefore, I advise to add a drop agave syrup, even if not iced, the applesauce may appear too sweet.

Recipe for Applesauce Popsicles with Strawberries

For 4 popsicles, you need the following ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 200 g of applesauce
  • 4 strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon of agave syrup

Equipment

  • 4 popsicles molds or empty yoghurt pots
  • 4 wooden sticks

Preparation

Mix the apple compote with the agave syrup. Wash the strawberries and roughly chop them.

Place the strawberries in the bottom of the molds. Pour in the applesauce. Close the molds and insert the wooden sticks. Place in the freezer for at least 4 hours.

To unmold your popsicles, run the molds under hot water for a few seconds.

Note

If you are using empty yogurt pots, wash them well before use. Then, once the applesauce has been poured into the yogurt pots, close using cling film. Do not fill the yogurt pot more than three quarters full so that the cling film does not touch the applesauce.
