It is a must in baking, the Banana Bread! Perfect when you have bananas that start to blacken. I personnally like to add chocolate chips in it. Here is a delicious recipe of Chocolate Chip Banana Bread.
The perfect Banana Bread recipe
After several tries, I found the perfect recipe for the banana bread to be as soft as possible. My secret? I use almond flour to replace some of the flour. Here is the step-by-step recipe.
Step 1: The bananas
To obtain a very soft cake, I use 3 bananas (plus one for decoration). Choose very ripe bananas, they are very sweet and allow you to reduce or not add sugar at all.
Start by crushing 3 bananas in a bowl with a fork.
Step 2: The dough
Add 2 eggs and mix. Next add 120 g of flour, 80 g of almond flour and 2 tsp of baking powder. Then add 50 g of sugar then 60 g of sunflower oil. Mix well.
Replace the sunflower oil by coconut oil and it will give a good coconut taste to the banana bread, like in my recipe of Banana bread with chocolate chips and coconut oil.
Step 3: The chocolate chips
Not only does chocolate go very well with banana but it also gives your banana bread a crunchy touch! You can choose dark or milk chocolate. Personally, I prefer dark chocolate.
Cut 75 g of chocolate roughly to make chips. Then add the chips to the dough and mix. To finish, pour into a cake tin that has been oiled beforehand.
Step 4: Decorating and baking
For decoration, peel and cut a banana in half lengthwise. Place it on the dough. This banana isn’t just there to look pretty, it gives the banana bread a nice soft taste!
Finally, bake the banana bread for 40 minutes in the oven at 180°C.

- 50 g of sugar
- 60 g sunflower oil
- 75 g dark chocolate
- 1 banana for decoration
- Start by crushing 3 bananas in a bowl with a fork.
- Add 2 eggs and mix.
- Then add 120 g of flour, 80 g of almond flourand 2 tsp of baking powder. Next add 50 g of sugar and 60 g of sunflower oil. Mix well.
- Cut 75 g of chocolate roughly to obtain chips. Then add the chips to the dough and mix.
- To fonish pour the mixture into a cake tin oiled in advance.
- For decoration, peel and cut a banana in half lengthwise. Place it on the dough.
- Finally, bake the banana bread for 40 minutes in the oven at 180°C.
