Recipe for Coconut and Dark Chocolate Macaroons

For about 20 macaroons you need the following ingredients:

For the macaroons

  • 2 egg whites
  • 120 g icing sugar
  • 140g grated coconut
  • 1 drop of lemon juice

For decoration

  • 50 g dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Preparation

Step 1: Egg whites

Start by beating the egg whites until stiff, adding a drop of lemon juice.

Step 2: Icing sugar

Once the whites begin to set, gradually add the icing sugar.

Step 3: The coconut

Finally, gently fold in the grated coconut.

Step 4: Form the macaroons

Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Drop a good teaspoon of coconut paste on the baking sheet and form your macaroons.

Space the macaroons at least 3 cm between them so that they do not touch each other during baking.

Step 5: Baking

Bake the macaroons for 12 minutes at 175 ° C (fan oven).

Step 6: Decoration

Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil. You can melt it in the microwave on low power or in a water bath.

Once out of the oven, decorate the rocks with melted chocolate.

Leave to cool for 1 hour in the refrigerator or outside if it is cold enough!
