Crispy Smashed potatoes
After the Baked Feta Pasta, here is another viral recipe on social media: the crispy smashed potatoes! It’s a very simple recipe and you get ultra crispy potatoes.
They can be served as a side with a yogurt sauce or other sauce of your choice.
What are smashed potatoes?
The concept is very simple: just cook the potatoes in water, then crush them lightly to flatten them. Then, cover the potatoes with oil that can be seasoned according to your tastes (I chose garlic and herbes de Provence). Then the potatoes are baked for another 35 minutes or so.
This technique results in super crispy potatoes!
Recipe for Crispy Smashed potatoes
For about 4 servings you need the following ingredients:

- 750 g potatoes, small
- 60 ml olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of herbes de Provence
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- Salt
- Pepper
For the yoghurt sauce
- 150 g of Greek yogurt
- Salt
- Pepper

Preparation
Cook the potatoes in water with the skin on for 20 minutes.
Combine the olive oil, herbes de Provence, salt, pepper and chopped garlic in a bowl.
Drain the potatoes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a glass, press down the potatoes to flatten them.
Then brush the potatoes with the olive oil mixture. Bake for 30 minutes at 175 ° C.
Combine the yogurt, a pinch of salt and pepper. Serve the smashed potatoes with the yogurt sauce.
