Homemade dried oranges and lemons recipe

I made this recipe with oranges and lemons. It is very important to use untreated oranges and lemons. You can completely dry other citrus fruits such as tangerines, grapefruits or limes.

For about two baking sheets you need the following ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges, untreated
  • 2 lemons, untreated

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Baking paper

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare oranges and lemons

Wash and dry the oranges and lemons well. Cut them into thin strips, preferably of equal sizes. The ideal size is around 4 to 5 mm.

Cover your baking sheet with baking paper and arrange the slices so that they do not touch each other.

Step 2: Baking

Place your two sheets in the oven (one at the bottom and the other roughly in the middle). Bake at 75 ° C for 7 to 8 hours, turning the slices every 1 to 2 hours. If some slices dry faster than others, take them out and continue baking the others.

Take out the lemon and orange slices once they are dry. Then, let them cool in the open air before putting them in an airtight container.
