In autumn, the choice of fruit begins to be more limited than during the summer. However, there are plenty of ways to prepare seasonal fruits like apples and pears. Here’s a delicious Recipe for Roasted Pear and Apple Oatmeal.

Roasted pear, a beautiful discovery!

I love and have always loved apples! As for the pear, it was so far less my thing.

With this roasted pear recipe that I tried for the first time for this porridge, I completely rediscovered the taste of pear. So it’s a nice discovery that I will not hesitate to decline in other recipes. Why not with something savoury!

If you too are a little skeptical or moderately fan of pear, try it! I think you’re going to like it, as I do.

Roasted Pear and Apple Oatmeal

Basic recipe from my autumn oatmeal

In my Quick Porridge with Strawberries and Cherries, you’ll find my basic recipe for banana-based oatmeal. The following recipe is slightly different because I replaced the banana with apple.

My basic recipe is very simple: just maintain the 1:2 ratio, that is, one serving of oats for two servings of liquid.

This basic recipe can easily be made vegan by replacing milk with vegetable milk. Almond or oat milk will go perfectly with this recipe. It is also possible to use only two servings of milk without water. In short, there are many possible variations!

Basic recipe

  • 1 glass of oatmeal
  • 1 glass of milk (vegetable or not)
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1/2 apple, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. soup of agave or honey syrup

Put all the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl, then cook at 800 Watt for 2 min 30 minutes. Then let it cool a little before adding the decoration.

Step 2: The pear

Wash and cut the pear in half. Remove the seeds. For one serving, half a pear is enough.

Step 3: The apple

Cut the rest of the apple in small pieces. Place the apple in a microwave-safe bowl. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon and brown sugar if necessary (if the apple is too acidic, otherwise no need to add sugar).

Cook on medium power for 2 to 3 minutes until you obtain an apple compote.

Step 4: Decoration

First place the roasted pear on the cooked oatmeal. Add the apple compote and a bit of homemade granola. Finally, you can add one last teaspoon of cinnamon and some toasted hazelnuts.
